Created by The College of Optometrists, this guidance document is designed to help eyecare providers continue to run their practice through the pandemic by adapting it to make it as safe as possible for staff and patients. The guidance includes insights on adapting practice environments, such as spacing out the chairs in the waiting and dispensing areas, and adjusting patient interactions, such as seeing patients by appointment only. Additionally, the guidance suggests everyday routine changes to reduce physical contact, control infection, manage referrals and dispensing, and maintain record-keeping.
